Rally North Wales 2022

Rally North Wales…a bit of a conundrum as the event traditionally uses stages in the Dyfi complex just to the north of Machynlleth- which most people in Wales would consider to be ‘Mid’ Wales…anyway…I digress! It’s been an exceptionally dry spell in Wales over the past few weeks with barely a drop of rain. As a result, the stages were bone dry and with some questionable road repairs in some places, the stages looked more like the Acropolis, and a quick glance at the retirements list post event would make the comparison even more valid!

Tough conditions for the crews, but near perfect conditions for rally photography. Lots of photographers hate the dust as it’s so tough on the gear, but we love it. It really adds another dimension to the photos and allows for experimentation with angles and light not normally possible in wet conditions.
