Classic Tracks 2023

Sunday 28th May saw us make the pilgrimage to deepest West Wales for the Classic Tracks targa rally. Based at West Wales Rally Spares in Llandysul, it’s often described as West Wales’s WRC event and when you see the sheer size of the crowds that turn out to spectate, it’s not hard to see why!

The event received almost 120 entries with 90 of those within two hours of the regulations being posted. There were some disappointed crews as the event could only accommodate 75 starters.

The crews faced 22 tests in all, all on farm tracks within a few miles of the event HQ - none of which were used more than once. Despite this, the attrition rate was high with only 41 crews reaching the finish.

The event was one for the first time by Jamie Jones and Craig Baker in their Ford Escort, 35s ahead of second placed Dafydd-Sion Lloyd & Dion Lewis in a Proton Satria.
